… We’re now set for 6 January 2019!
The flight to Sevilla is booked, and then it’s 1000 km to Santiago
So why do it in cold and rainy January?
Let me tell you…
For health reasons, the doctors and physios advised not hiking in November or December 2018. In April and May 2019 I have job commitments, and as of June the Spanish heat waves starts. So all that was left was January!
Before announcing the start date, I wanted to have a few days training in a row in order to make sure I’m fit, both physically and mentally.
I successfully took part in the “Megamarsch Stuttgart 2018 (50/12)” hike; there is still room for improvement but I can safely say that I didn’t have pain in my back or elsewhere.
I also had to completely re-plan the hiking route as certain hostels will be closed and I also needed new kit for the winter weather. It was tough to reorganise but I’m still thinking positive.
What better way to start the year than with You Can Help.
